Power points are not always an option. The SolRover is a 10,000mAh MagSafe power bank with a solar panel, for the days they are not.

Power, where the plug is not.
What the solar panel really does
Let us be straight about it. The solar panel is a backup, not a main way to charge. In direct sunlight it adds a slow but meaningful top-up over several hours. It will not fully recharge a dead power bank on its own.
What it does is stop the SolRover from going completely dead on a long trip where no power point is within reach for days. You charge it from a wall socket before you leave, and the panel is your safety net after that.
Charge it at home. Let the sun cover the gap.
Where it earns its place
- Treks and hikes. Clip it to a backpack and keep your phone alive for maps and emergencies.
- Long road trips and remote travel. Places where the next socket is a long way off.
- Camping. A day outdoors with the phone for photos, music and a torch.
- Power cuts. A 10,000mAh reserve for the phone, with a little sun as a bonus.
Snap on, like any MagSafe power bank
The SolRover is MagSafe-compatible and snaps onto the back of an iPhone 12 or newer for wireless charging. Android phones can charge through the USB-C cable in the box. The magnetic attach will not hold on an Android phone without a magnetic case or ring.
At 10.8 x 6.9 x 2.2 cm, it is thicker than the slim MagSafe models. That is the cost of the bigger battery and the solar panel. If thin matters most to you, look at the Air Mag.
How to get the most from the solar panel
- Charge it from the wall first. Start every trip with a full battery.
- Face the panel at direct sun. Open sky works far better than shade or a window.
- Be patient. It is a slow top-up over several hours, not a quick charge.
- Do not let it overheat. Heat is hard on any lithium battery. Do not leave it on a dashboard or in a closed, hot car.

Who it suits, and who should skip it
It suits you if you hike, camp, take long trips off the grid, or want a reserve for power cuts, and you want a power bank that snaps onto your iPhone.
Skip it if you mostly charge from a wall socket in a city. You would pay for a solar panel you rarely use. And do not expect solar to be your main charging method.
Frequently asked questions
Can a solar power bank charge fully from the sun?
Not on its own. The solar panel on the SolRover is an emergency top-up. In direct sunlight it adds a slow charge over several hours, but it will not fully recharge a dead power bank.
How long does solar charging take?
Several hours in direct sunlight, and it depends on how strong the sun is. Treat it as a backup and charge from the wall before you leave.
Does the SolRover work with iPhone?
Yes. It is MagSafe-compatible and snaps onto iPhone 12 and above.
Can I use it with an Android phone?
Yes, through the USB-C cable in the box. The magnetic attach needs a magnetic case or ring on Android.
Can I take it on a flight?
Yes, in your cabin bag. At 10,000mAh it is about 37Wh, under the usual 100Wh limit. You cannot use a power bank on board. See our flight rules guide.
What warranty does it have?
1 year against manufacturing defects. See the product page for terms.
